Welcome to my first blog post. The website has some of my favorite weaving and stitching projects in the gallery. Over time I hope to give you more information on these and new projects. But first I will be taking you along to Iceland. I have a residency for the month of May at the Textile Center in Blonduos. My plan is to work on stitching and textile collage while I am there. I will have a few days in Reykjavik before heading north to Blonduos.
I am sharing a stitching I made of my sister, Jeanie and myself based on a photo from 1957.
We are standing by the rosebushes at our grandparents' home. I started this piece in a class from Sue Stone. I love her approach to telling family stories through her stitched creations.
What a wonderful adventure! Looking forward to hearing about your Iceland experience.
Beautiful blog.
