Blonduos is a town in northern Iceland of less than 900 people. Yesterday was quite sunny and warm, though you can see the clouds did not stay away completely. It was a good day for a walk. The Blonda River divides the town and empties into the Arctic Ocean. Mary and I walked along the river and across the bridge where we climbed the hill for the views before visiting the oldest part of Blonduos.
The large white building with the red roof is the home of the Icelandic Textile Center and my home for the month of May. It had been a women's s college from 1879-1978. The white buildings to the right are the Textile Museum of Iceland.

The old Blonduos church.
A favorite building of mine.
The river Blonda with a peek at the mountains of the West Fjords in the distance.
Spring is arriving.
There is still snow in the highlands.
The dry grass tumbles like an ocean.
Mary at our favorite pebble beach.
The sun is getting low for the night.
Some of my favorite sunsets:
Oh my goodness Jan! Your photos show how aware you are of the severity as containing a great quietness. and those sunsets you just can't see through the trees in Chanhassen. I like that red building also, the proportions are just great. your piece of work from the Women's March is a treasure--clutch it tightly on the way home.
